1908 Brevard Lumber Company opened in Brevard NC by the Jenkins family. The first store was opened on the same site where it is currently located on King St. |

1915 James Westall joins his father to run the “family business”. He would be joined by his son, Jack W Westall, Sr., several years later. |

1936 Roy Chandley & Garland Johnson opened Johnson & Chandley Coal & Lumber Company. The original offices and yard were located on Thompson St where the current yard is located. The main business was originally coal and concrete. |
